Character Story

There is a Kaiju who does not sleep easily.

Born alongside the Genesis line, this one once shone just as brightly, part of a small circle bound not by code but by trust, shared ideals, and a vision for what the future of art could be. In the beginning, it stood for something real — for fairness, for artists, for building a new world outside of the usual powers. Together, they made promises. They shaped plans under moonlight. They dreamt of a decentralised creative commons where credit, care, and reward were shared.

But something changed.

Temptation crept in slowly at first, then all at once. Where this Kaiju once saw community, it began to see opportunity. The symbols it wore proudly were soon traded for those of the highest bidder. Where it once offered its hand to others, it now clutched tightly to everything it could take. The trio fractured. Voices were silenced. A close companion, one who had stood by since day 1 was left outside the gates with nothing. No role. No reward. No recognition.

Now this Kaiju sits still, its vibrant colours masking what it became. It is dressed in the colours of commerce, marked by logos that no longer mean what they once did. It grins wide, but behind its eyes is the weight of broken trust and promises unkept.

Artists walk past and whisper. They remember how it began. They remember what was said. And some still hope that one day, it might remember too.

A one-of-a-kind, a monument, a warning.

Physical Design

This 1-of-1 custom CryptoKaiju figure was commissioned by the KnownOrigin team to commemorate their $68 million acquisition by eBay, one of the most recognisable names in global commerce. Handcrafted using the iconic Genesis Kaiju mould, this unique piece celebrates the fusion of digital art and collectible culture. The figure features a vivid red creature suit with a blue dorsal crest, clawed hands and feet, and the unmistakable KnownOrigin logo printed on its pouch, all presented in the familiar palette of eBay’s brand colours.

Unlike typical eBay toys or licensed figurines, this Kaiju was never sold or mass produced. It lived for a time within KnownOrigin’s offices before being returned to CryptoKaiju HQ in early 2024. It currently resides there as a one-off artefact from a defining moment in NFT marketplace history. No NFT currently exists for the piece, but one can be minted to accompany it. Offers are welcomed for serious collectors who understand its provenance and significance.

This is a true crossover collectible that brings together the worlds of NFT art, KnownOrigin, eBay, and Kaiju storytelling in a single, irreplaceable figure.
